Not giving up may look different to what you think

Not giving up may look different to what you think.

‘Not giving up’ is often interpreted as continuing to work on something and pushing through with sheer grit and determination. This is of course necessary and valuable.

BUT sometimes not giving up, means laying something down for a season but not giving up on it for the future.

The promises of God are true, they do not go away. But sometimes we are required to hold them in our hearts and wait.

Sometimes the greatest test of our faith is exactly this, to hold onto the hope whilst not actively working on something.

Coaching seasons awareness is a vital part of the coaching process, but often overlooked in standard coaching approaches. The over emphasis of goal setting and the hype of finding the strength within, can overlook coaching towards wisdom and clarity on the season. When we invite God in, to show us about the season we are in, the outcome can be very different to what we think it will be.

It may be that we need to get into action or possibly wait. Being aligned to which one is right in the season is vital for peace and clarity. Neither are giving up!

1 Chronicles 12:32:
From the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.
