This coming Saturday I’m leading a one-day coaching workshop called Launching into My Destiny.
The truth is we ‘launch’ into our destiny multiple times in our lifetime. A change in season, a change in role, a change in focus.
Things we did many years ago, often bounce back in some form. This could look like a renewed contact, maybe going back into a similar field we worked in sometime ago, maybe going back to something but in a different way.
Why is it important to realise we are always launching or re-launching’?
The ‘one thing’ for life myth
Firstly, that innate desire to find the ‘one thing’ that will suit us, fulfil us, give us financial security or favour or whatever it is we crave, doesn’t exist. It’s a myth.
Well, ok, it may exist, but only ever for a season.
Thankfully, I am grateful for this, God made us to continually grow, and mature and develop. So, even if we think we have found our ‘one thing’ that is all we need for our whole life, we haven’t. There will be a time when we grow beyond it and pass it on to others in some way, and we move up to what God has for us next.
Mostly we don’t like change
I am someone who professes that I love change. And it’s true, I do. But even those of us who are adaptable and love diversity and change in our lives, have certain areas we don’t like change in. These are our ‘change adverse areas’, the places where we are sensitive to even think about changing.
Our change adverse area could be an unwillingness to change location, or a job function, or a change in who we work with, or a change of church, or changes in hours we work, or simply our routine. You may say, ‘I’m fine with all of that’; but I guarantee you there is something in you and each of us for which we feel ‘change adverse’. If the pressure comes on that area to change, we’ll feel a surprising amount of anxiety. Of course, some of us, find any change difficult.
Knowing that it’s a normal part of life to constantly launch and re-launch into something new, helps us to embrace change as a part of our life and as part of fulfilling our destiny.
The good news is that change grows us and teaches us many things that staying in a stagnant pattern or routine won’t. Embracing this truth fully helps so many people that I coach, to move to a brand-new place of finally finding fulfilment. Once they embrace and push through the uncomfortableness of making changes, the reward of finding fulfilment and fully growing into your best self can happen, in work, or finding a new relationship or finding a new place of relationship with God and so many other areas of life.
Chicken lines
Chicken lines are something we will cover on the Launching into My Destiny workshop, this coming Saturday (which will be available to buy as a recording afterwards). Understanding and conquering our chicken lines is mostly a disregarded step. Not many people consider crossing chicken lines as part of getting to where they want to.
‘What is a chicken line?’, most people say.
A chicken line is an action, which feels scary, which when we overcome our fear, take the action, and embrace the change that we are invited into catapults us forward towards our destiny. Chicken lines are very special because they are what lies between us and our next level, between us and walking into the fullness of all that we were created for. Sadly, many of us don’t recognise our chicken line opportunities.
But they exist throughout our lives, you would have already crossed many of them. A chicken line is a step of faith, an action, a tangible thing that you need to do to overcome your fears and move into your next level, your dream, your destiny.
Many people don’t even realise that they are at choice to activate the ideas, dreams and vision that they have, despite the fear and apprehension they feel. Some of us, believe that if we just wait, doors will fling open, the ideal opportunities will come along, and God will make a way for us.
Of course, this does happen, but mostly when we knock on the doors, when we do our part of walking towards the goal.
Even though some chicken lines feel oh so scary, it’s pretty easy to get over the fear and step forward. (This is something we teach how to do, on the Launching into My Destiny coaching course).
Once we realise that we will constantly be launching and relaunching throughout our lives, that change is one thing we can always rely on to be a part of our journey, that chicken lines need to be crossed at each important step, we can move towards fulfilment of our destiny, overcoming, embracing change, and growing and maturing in our identity and purpose.
